You're not missing out on a whole lot, don't worry. The gameplay mechanics are there, but the beta is so buggy it's unplayable.

Literally: it takes me ages to finally get into a game, and the majority of times the server screws up like a minute into the race and I'm booted out. Think I've only actually managed to complete like 3 or 4 races in as many hours.

I've also had it lock up on me several times, crash my PS3 once, and had it do loads of other crazy stuff (such as the camera going insane, or being stuck in 6th place forever no matter how many people I overtook).

Throw in long loading times and a bad framerate, and the beta is more frustrating than fun.

Playing around the character creator is awesome, though. =)

Can't wait for the full game.

Beta is buggy, but it's fun. Can't play online for now. It's easy to do your tracks, characters, and cars though.

quality wise modnation racers is a winner but sales wise... meh :P lol but i hope it will have legs like little big planet and bundle them together with smthing :P

Just go look at little big planet, I don't need to say anymore than that.

In terms of sales? Obviously not.

In terms of quality? Quite possibly, as MKWii is an above-average racer boosted by its character list and party aspect. The two best are still the SNES and 64 versions.

sony have done it again, it may not outsell mario kart wii, but it certainly will be better game

It looks like an amazing game. It'll be just like when I booted up Mario Kart 64 and Crash Team Racing for the first time.
