Maybe it's about time to upgrade from my 1000? Nah.
Maybe it's about time to upgrade from my 1000? Nah.
Every PSP is basically the same, except that the revisions past the 1000 cost less to produce, and use less power (and have a smaller battery). The 2000 and beyond also have extra memory that the browser, etc. can use.
You will NEVER, EVER see a PSP with a touchscreen or 2nd analog. NEVER. If such a beast ever came into existance, it wouldn't be a PSP -- it'd be a PSP2.
Seriously. What kind of fools would a publisher have to be to support a touchscreen or dual analog for a PSP game, when only a small fraction of the users could even use it?
PSP-4000 would just be the latest revision of the hardware. Its not a big deal. The 2000 and 3000 are practically identical, you know. I applaud Sony for smartly improving their hardware production costs throughout their product lifetimes. I laugh at people who honestly believe the model numbers are a big deal, outside of the Go. The slim redesign wasn't really even that important, unless you used the browser alot.
You don't hear people whining about the DS Lite, DSi, or DS XL redesigns. I don't see how this is different.
Not confirmed at all. with all of the x000 models out there, I am sure the marketing dept, or ads just got confused when making the design in Photoshop.
Confirmed would mean that Sony revealed the PSP4000.

Naw, their plan always was to keep both types (UMD, non-UMD) going at the same time. The biggest issues I have with the PSP-3000 is the screen and the space available. Its the primary reason I still have the PSP-2000, the screen on the 3000 just isn't good. If they do really good with the PSP-4000 screen and they add some internal space (1-4 gigs) and maybe change the mem card slot to the new mini sony mem-card then I can finally upgrade.
I dunno why. My PSP-2k isn't threatened just because SONY made the PSP-3k and PSP-GO. FF VII and FF VIII alone make owning a PSP worth it. Man Sometimes editing with VGC is so screwed up. |
Why not just get a 8-16 gig pro duo card? They aren't really super expensive anymore. Any can't you use mini pro duos in the psp with an adapter?

Yes. Because releasing the 3000 meant the 2000 was a mistake.

I'm so confused with Sony. They have one of the biggest assets at their fingertips, the ps2. All they have to do, is stop "revisioning" the psp, and make a PSP2, essentially a ps2 on the go(2 analog sticks)
Port the best ps2 games so that they are playing the same thing, not a portable version, and keep the psp go but add a 2nd analog stick to that and add all ps2 on psn.
They would win this gen and future gens to come if they did that.
Just get on with the PSP2 already, enough of these stupid changes.
The gap between 1000 and 2000 is pretty big since they made it a lot lighter, but the 3000 is barely different then the 2000. What could the 4000 possibly be bringing to the table? Unless it has 2 joysticks and a slightly bigger screen (a couple inches bigger) I wouldn't upgrade.
Oh gees everytime I want a PSP I'm forcing myself to wait for the updated version :\ Sony I'll never buy it if you keep updating every year!
