Forums - Sony - GT Demo was horrible!

As i read it the TT demo does however showcase the physics, not the graphics etc. But how the car handles and feels is the same as the one in the GT5 game. And THAT's what im ranting about..

Its a demo was to show case the new driving model...an let me say it was phenomenal.

I never play car games, GRID being the only one, but i had high hopes for this GT demo, seeing as its been hyped as a franchise and IGN saying PD have outdone themselves. But damn.. i did 2 laps, quit, deleted the game and the "maybe"-purchase of GT5 is now at a "hell-the-fudge-no!"-level.

..end rant.

So you never play racing games, but you've played GRID, which is an arcade racer, not a sim, then you get a taste of GT5, a racer that's known for it's realism, and you complain? Seriously, what did you expect?

Come back when you get some sense.

GT5 is supposed to be played using 9000 degress while analog sticks gives 900 degree turn at least with slightest move so if you are using a driving wheel make the traction control off and if you are using analog stick make it 8 to reduce drifting while if you are using D pad them Sim racers were not made for you.

Well i do however drive in real life.. and i do however use my common sense when i say that you don't get screeching tires from going 40mph. Stop being an ass.

It's not the physics and car handling that suck, it's you. Learn to play it properly then come back and complain if you must.

Don't worry, this happens to all new comers of the GT series. Think of it like Demon's Souls, it's hard but fun and accomplished driven. You will have to work and invest time into this game if you want to become an armature at it, becoming a pro will require a lot more effort.

You wont get no where over night with GT, so if you can't invest into learning how to play it then stay far away from it because it will drive you mad.... The game is really a hardcore driving, racing sim.

Keep at it, you will eventually get it, at which point the game becomes like crack or weed, you just can't get enough.

The physics and car handling is phenomenal and very realistic.

But this game is not make for all the people... this is not a arcade racer game and is necessary a good driving wheel.

/ thread ends.

How can i play it inproperly? And what am i doing wrong if i get screeching tires at low speed and spinning around at speed below 40mph? Its not even possible in real life. Definitive racing simulation my behind.

Screeching tires doesn't have anything to do with how fast your car is moving, that's the mistake you're making. Your tires are screeching when you put too much power on your car and tires than they can handle. The result is that your tires can't get grip, thus they make a screeching sound. It's the same thing that happens in corners when your car has overstear, which causes your car to drift. That may be due to the lack of downforce or the tires itself of course.
