any idea anyone?
Less than what it made SE in it's first day of sales and that's what matters the most. The game is probably already porfitable considering the mark-up they have in Japan for this game (I don't have a link for that comment). I would guess around the same as MGS4 which was 60 million, but it could be as high as 80 million big ones as well.

yeah i think the around that only. But it could be alot more as it has been in development since Final Fantasy XIII
Yeah plus the marketing was huge in Japan, everywhere you went you'd see a FFXIII advert. Looking at some of the pictures in the game stores for this game just makes me wonder how much it costs per sign to display in any specific area.
Probably more than it should be.
But they're getting the money back, with interest, no doubt about it.
Well, Final Fantasy 12 cost $40 million with a crazy long development time. I imagine that it's somewhere between $40-60 million.

well companring this to Final Fantasy 12 won't be right as it wasn't HD and FF13 has been in develpment since FF10

No it has not been in development for 8 years. That's a huge load of BS.
And what makes HD games cost more than last generation? They require more time to make and larger teams to work with. The main cost there is salaries. I highly doubt the size of the team changed all the much and the development times aren't too different.
While I think it's definitely more expensive, it's a possibility that they're not far apart.
