Forums - Gaming - Which console has improved the most since its launch?

I think the PS3 has improved the most followed by the 360.  The Wii has always been about the same IMO

If we are talking strictly consoles then the 360 easily. It is the only console to gain stuff. An HDMI cable, and smaller internal parts. The PS3 console has gone down hill the last couple of years. Losing Linux support, Backwards compatibility, and ethernet ports

I'd say PS3.
It was near Doomsville for sure.

Financially it still is.

I'd say the 360 simply because the launch titles were lame and they seem to have fixed the insanely high fail rate.

The PS3 console hasn't exactly improved. Sure the software is getting better, but I'd rather have one of the original consoles.

The PS3.
It's not even a contest.
The PS3 didn't have trophies and you couldn't even go into the XMB while playing a game until 2.4 came out. You couldn't even download anything in the background for the longest time also.

The Sixaxis had no rumble, and we had to wait til spring 2008 for the Dualshock 3.

As far as games go, the PS3 got so much shit for not having any good games at launch (besides Resistance) and not having any games to play until around late 2007.

Now look at the PS3, it's a totally different console.

PS3 because I am one of the lucky ones who waited and waited for a huge price cut + I got it slimmer.

PS3 was a joke at launch. Even I was laughing at it! But now... *hugs PS3*

Hmmm well

PS3 - From $600 to $300, massive improvements to PSN, Slimmer model, finally got some good games.

360 - Got rid of RRoD, several improvements to XBL, $199 entry price, also finally got some good games (it wasn't as bad as PS3, but games were lacking to start with)

Wii - Hasn't really changed much except drop to $199, most of the good games were out by 2008 so lack of games was never a problem.

I'd say PS3 improved the most but you could make a case for 360 because of the RRoD problem that they've fixed with the new 360's.

expandable memory, nintendo channel, motion plus. Though i'll agree that Wii is the most similar to what it was.

I'll agree, Sony's clearly made the most effort to expand their platform beyond what it was.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

PS3.

I don't really think there's any contest to this. PS3 has gone from a laughing stock and potentially dying/dead console to having a major upswing in features, THREE price cuts, tons of exclusive and cross platform content and a total image change. All in about a year.

If anything, the PS3 has improved the most because it started off as one of the most botched and mishandled console launches ever. And is now competing with XBOX360 head on and looks like it'll surpass it.

Six upcoming games you should look into:
