Forums - Nintendo - "Zelda died because we can't animate a skirt" - Aonuma

After Miyamoto admitting that Nintendo didn't want to bother with skirt physics so they didn't include Peach as a playable character in NSMBWii, it seems Aonuma has confirmed Nintendo really don't like bothering with skirts at all:

"People on the staff have wanted to have Zelda in the game for ages, but if we did that, then her skirt becomes an issue," Aonuma revealed. "Having girls in dresses in an action game is kind of hard to deal with. That's how we got the idea of having her body stolen and her soul going inside Phantom Guardians."

Or she could just... put on some pants.

... Goddamnit Nintendo.

... Goddamnit.

(S)he's called Sheik...duh!

I really feel as if this is getting horribly mistranslated or something.

Around the Network

Is it really that hard?

Or is Nintendo lazy?

I know some of you are going to bring up Smash Bros, but while that game looks great, we should seriously take a look at how the skirts flowed in those games. Then we can be sure if he's full of it or not.

EDIT: Also, that title is a lie (since it's pretending to quote him).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

okay.... i can't defend from this now.
that's lazy.

Errrrm... okay. How about all the other Nintendo games featuring girls wearing skirts?
