Forums - Sales - FF XIII shipment is 1.8 mil - Confirmed

I could be wrong(have no way to confirm it), he is stating that the 10% only applies to online orders.  Although this post would seem to suggest otherwise.

Even if the discount isn't due to the point system they have setup, it seems Sofmap has a history of offering 10% to 15% off new releases.

"Sofmap*, Sakura-ya, Bic Camera, and other big chains outside of Akihabara usually have better deals on brand new games on release day, offering 10% to 15% off retail."

"Sofmap (store in the backstreet, around the corner from the one on the street to Namba sta. this is *the* place for new releases (usualty 15% off all new releases, so its cheapest too) as well having a large amount of second hand games/anime/manga, its 6-7 floors)"

That guy's voice of the youtube vid is so boring. Pity I will be in a few days in Japan if I just be a bit earlier...

Price drop already for FF XIII, what the hell? Maybe FF XIII was overstuffed at retailers...

Edit: mujun on GAF says:

"Duckroll suggested that I post my FFXIII purchasing experience in here.

I bought mine from Sofmap in central Osaka (a major store) and they still had hundreds of copies behind the counter on the shelves. That was about 30 minutes ago at 3pm Japan time.

They had also (amazingly) dropped the price to 7500 yen despite the fact they were originally selling it for 8300 yen or so. I have never seen a game's price dropped on the day it goes on sale the whole time I've been here so I was very pleasantly surprised as it is obviously a win for my wallet "

Wow. Japan is truly a marvel.

Well, I guess we can add "fastest price collapse" to FFXIII's list of record breakers.  MH3 got one 2nd week at Bic iirc (standalones only, CC bundles never dropped).

pricecut,overstuff,anything else?
Some people always like to blowup spots,Yes,because it's FF or DQ.
Anyway, waiting for tommrow’s first day sales.

Unexpected, you'd think retailers would never order so many copies of a PS3 game. Bodes well for my 1.8 million LTD prediction though.

It also means that it has outsold each and every other home console jRPG this gen.

Sounds about right, my prediction should be pretty close. Maybe I'll have to raise the hardware sales for that week?

It seems Sony did shipped the 200k bundles, but they are 250gb version which is pretty expensive.

Mountains of unsold bundles are being reported:

It looks like SE really did overship them to the neck.

Depends on the time of the picture no? If that's taken at the start and then posted "omg, doesn't sell"?
