I hope they port Mass Effect 2 to PS3. Would sell 2mil copies eventually. That's got to be worth the porting effort.

except for the whole part of M$ giving them back the rights to publish the game...anyway...2 million...WOW...considering what games have done 2 million on the PS3.

They're going to release NHL 11 and I'm going to buy it day 1. :P Other than that, don't really care.

I'm not too read up on the legal status of Mass Effect 2, or Mass Effect as a franchise. Maybe you can educate me?

I checked the Wiki page of Microsoft owned IPs and Mass Effect wasn't there so I wasn't sure.

As for the game selling 2 millon on PS3 - I think it's possible. I literally mean life to death, emphasis on the death, because it would certainly be crawling from 1.5mil onwards. Maybe 1.8mil would be more realistic.

How would ME2 sell two million when the original was never released on PS3?

I really hope and think Bad Company 2 can reach 6-8m units across PS3/360/PC.

I have no clues about the sales of the new Medal of Honor though.

2 mil? When it's a sequel with the point being to have a save file transfer to supplement your own story? No that wouldn't happen without the help of hefty price drops early on.

Haha, oh please!

The game isn't in the slightest unplayable just because you don't have a save file from the first game. It's not "the point being", it's just a big bonus if you do still have your old file.

Regardless, Bioware have already confirmed themselves that you can pick up ME2 without having played the first and you won't not understand what's going on.

I think they'll become more conservative and drop a lot of franchises and make everything left on every single platform for maximum profit.

M$ does not own the Mass Effect IP, nor did they ever own it, but when Bioware was an independent developer, They signed the deal with M$ to launch Mass Effect as a trilogy, and just like Gears of War, they signed M$ on as the publisher for the games.  Now, of course I haven't read the contract to know if M$ has first right of refusal to publish all formats, but I did remember that M$ had the publishing rights for the IP.  It was an exclusive and eventually ported to PC, but when Bioware was purchased by EA, that exclusivity was called into question, and in a very legalize response, M$ stated...we have an agreement.  Now, I'm sure M$ learned a lesson with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and didn't turn over those publishing rights to EA to have them turn around and  go multi-plat.  The amount for how much a publisher makes on a $60 is approx $16/unit, so if ME2 moves 3 million on the 360, EA would have been passing up on that money…

Pandemic were relocated as opposed to shut down - they wanted to get them out of California as that state is apparently 'too expensive'. Most of the staff were relocated to the closest EA studio (I've forgot which one :( ).

Supposed Pandemic are still working on the same projects as before (Mercenaries and Saboteur 2 apparently), and the games will still have the Pandemic name. Just they wanted to get them to a cheaper part of America.

But er, EA will most likely just be the same as this year, struggling but slowly turning it around.
