I've got the day off from work, thought i'd get a new game. I've seen some trailers of The Witcher and it looks epic. It sits on a 86 metacritic score atm. Anyone played it? Is it worth a purchase? The graphics looks to be somewhat "poor", but so was Dragon Age Origins, and that game was brilliant. How's the gameplay and RPG elements? And how long is it?

The Witcher was the Best RPG of 2007, winning even more awards than Mass Effect. So, yes? Just don't forget to buy the Enhanced version (if you buy the original version it's fine, because there's a patch that upgrades it to the enhanced version)

Graphically its actually superior to Dragon Age even though it is two years old. Animations is a bit stiff though, however I haven't updated my version or played the enchanced edition so I don't know if it is still the same.

Get the Enhanced Edition, It's an awesome game, 40 hours + with a lots of side quest, and different ways to go through the main story. Awesome game, and awesome story as well if you can get your hand on Andrzrej Sapkowski's books (the author behind the story of the Witcher). You may, like me, resent the combat system, which is a bit hectic at the beginning, but it is in fact fine after a few hours. Somehow, the ocmbat system almost made me miss this great game. I find it far superior to Mass Effect imho.

The Witcher 2 is being produced. Let's see if now they release it on hd consoles. The first one was unfortunatelly cancelled.
