Of course they are. They aren't the only 2 consoles on the market.

If the controller is true 1:1 they have a huge advantage.. hopefully for them it is

He's a PR guy talking big. Who cares? All PR guys talk big, its their job (and, yes, I think he's sorely mistaken if the thinks the Wand is going to somehow dent the Wii's sales).

Edit; I have to agree with what a couple others have stated though, the 2010 line-up might be promising indeed!

i think the sony wand will be cool but they must kill off 3D gameing

There are potentially several titles that currently exist that can be made to work with the control. As a matter of fact, if they are smart they can actually bundle the control separately with a game (for those that already own a ps3). For example, Heavenly Sword could work wonderfully and this could potentially give that game a relaunch which would help sales for that specific title and help with sales for the controller itself. Same case with GOW3 if done right. Then you have Uncharted 1 and 2 which could utilize the controller well just like RE4 did. I would go as far as saying MGS4 could also benefit from this. People have to learn to think outside the box. Sony has been good about taking something existant to the next level. Look at N64's rumble pack, PS1 did it well, PS2 took it to the next level.
As for the 2010 lineup, it's very promising. MAG,GOW3, Heavy Rain, Yakuza3, GT5, WKC, The Last Rebellion, and the more obscure but promising title to me Ar Tonelico 3.
As for Natal, it's pretty much a copy of the Eyetoy somewhat improved, and I still think Sony would be smart to expand upon the Eyetoy.
The lack of backwards compatability for PS2 games still bothers me, as that system has titles M$ could only wish they would compete with: VP2, Yakuza1-2, FFX-XII, ZOE1-2, Disgaea, etc, etc. I do hope that rumor about the PSN getting Dreamcast games turns out to be true.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Anyone else notice he mentioned that they'd be meeting firmware demands in 2010? Party system/cross-game voice-chat/in-game music KUNFERMED?

NOOOOOOOooooo. Don't say that. 3D gaming could be potentially powerful if done right. Imagine playing a Silent Hill game in 3D and have Pyramid Head pop up in your face, THAT would be immersive. I do remember talking to a friend about that back in PS1's glory days, mentioning specifically Silent Hill and RE3 Nemesis, having Nemesis break that wall and run at you. Basically any game that would have an over the shoulder view or third person where the camera is almost always behind you, and an FPS, would work beautifully with 3D. I am sure the guys at Sony are well aware of this.
