i really hope that they do increase the price, because i know there are morons that would be willing to pay for it.

So, wait.... he expects the traditional "Gold" level to DROP all these extra features but INCREASE in price? And then he thinks that for those extra features we will cough up $100 a year?
The way I see it, they should do this:
Make basic online play, messaging, and 25 person friends list available to all Silver members for free.
Offer Gold which includes the bigger friends list, the things like netflix and last.fm and all that, and additional chat features like party chat for $40 (yes a $10 DROP).
And then for $60 or higher, offer Diamond. Basically Gold + incentives such as: a free arcade game each month, better beta opportunities, a couple free Zune rentals a month, and things like that. If Netflix can offer HD streaming for free with it's basic $9 package, MS should be able to afford to offer us some free Zune rentals from time to time.
I think ... they should just keep things the way they are now .. they shouldn't mess around with it too much.
People will not pay for any service unless they're getting online play, Microsoft profits in the Xbox would hit the floor ...
unless MS wanna kill whatever support gamers have left for 360, this would be the most moronic-asinine decision TO DATE. ppl are barely willing to pay $50 as it is. Im starting to see SONY as the (much much much)lesser of the two evils now!

I honestly don't know why people put so much stock in Pachter's predictions.
Pachter is a joke. He has predicted a Wii HD for like the past 2 years and he always predicts price cuts and is either wrong or it was so obvious that it could hardly be called a prediction.
100 Dollar a year ? If they charge this much for Live they really have to increase the value a lot and lower Gold Value ? This would be a stupid move I dont believe that MS will do that. Infact I think they would be in deep trouble if Sony dont repeat the same mistakes again.
