No surprise. What is a surprise is that for me Silent Hill looked the best from that bunch. I might have to look into it. I love Silent Hill (excluding Homecoming which is just too Western) but figured it wouldn't work on Wii - I may have been wrong.

Surprise, surprise ... To post above-- try the new Silent Hill; it's fantastic, though short-lived. I think impart due to the replay value through various psych profiles.

Its-A-Me Mario! I Always Win!

I would have given the award to a 3rd party game this time, either Muramasa or Sillent Hill. As much as I love Mario and Luigi, they didn't deserve this award this time... This was a 3rd party year!!!

I think I will.  I've read some reviews now and it sounds like they've actually used the Wii rather just port and hope.  Love the idea of the phone calls through the remote.

When NSMB Wii was announced I was pretty sure it would be my game of the year. But then Silent Hill came out and Mario has been sitting in his case ever since. Simply put SH stole the show. And yes NSMB Wii is a great game too.

How didn't New Super Mario Bros Wii deserve this award (especially against a game like Muramasa)? 2D Mario is the pure definition of classic sidescrolling fun.

and Wii shooter of the years is Dead Space: Extraction : D

I liked that game but prefer Darkside Chronicles on rails, though Modern Warfare is the best shooter for me. Cracking fun.
