Why do microsoft and sony make consoles that tend to fail if they lose money for every console they make and sell it makes no sense why they don't improve the quality of there product so they won't lose so much money in console sale. They should make these generation console like last generation console that you could leave them turned on for 70 hours straight let it fall a million times and it still runs as good as new.

THe quality has improved. We don't see ever one out of 2 xboxes failing anymore.

I think the consoles are pretty reliable this generation considering how hot and complex the systems are. My friend showed me a stat which showed Nvidia graphics cards had like a 16% failure rate on their own. Thats the recent GTX 280 series I think.

I think maybe the perception of the failure rate is greater as the proportion of people who complain are a fraction of the overall population but make a disproportionate number of responses. You never hear anyone complain their car started on a cold morning unless it usually doesn't for example.
