i really wish nintendo would announce something about this game. i really, really want to meet the new pikmin :)

I want them both, and will have them both... when they're ready. I can be patient when I know I'll be satisfied in the long run.

I would bet anyone who doesn't agree with me. Pikmin 3 will outsell M.O.M.

Remember the reason Pikmin 2 only sold 360K in America was because of stock. It was a very rare gamecube game and hard to find. I got mine 1st week for my little brother(He got me into Pikmin) and at Gamestop they only had 3 copies left and the next week they had none. I also read somewhere that Pikmin 2 had very limited stock in America its whole lifetime. At Gamestop now Pikmin 2 is the most expensive GC game they have at $35. It used to be $40 until they cut the price $5 this year. Last year at ebay Pikmin 2 was selling at the average price of $65.(Now you can get it on Ebay for a lot less) Pikmin 2 was also said to be a huge improvment over Pikmin(1) so why would it sell less?

Pikmin 3 would do even better with the wii base and the non gamers.

Pikmin 3 is not coming this generation. I'll believe it will when I see it.

Miyamoto has already made some kind of vague statememt to the effect of 'I am looking forward to the next Nintendo system having HD graphics.  I think certain games will really benefit from it such as Pikmin.'

He cited Pikmin specifically, which makes me at least think Nintendo isn't working on one at the moment or is only in the 'alpha' stage of development.  And possibly going to make it a launch game for their next system.

Yeah indeed. That was some vague statement years ago that got a lot of people all excited. Nothing whatsoever has been mentioned about the game ever since. Heck, we know far more about Zelda Wii than Pikmin 3. Imo, too, if they are even working on the title at all, it's only with a small team doing some tests and whatnot. Maybe for their next system, yeah, but I don't see it coming out anytime soon. I just don't get why people get all hyped up over literally nothing.

because pikmin 3 has been under development for about a month. Other M has been worked on by team ninja for a long time. Pikmin 3 is being made by the same team as NSMBW so in theory ever other nintendo studio shoul get a game out before pikmin 3. Thats why

I think that's part of the problem. We've had plenty of Metroid, but very little of Pikmin.

The sales do support his theory. Metroid and Pikmin have been averaging around the same sales range now. This means (if we look at only these two games) the opprotunity cost of doing one is almost the same as doing the other. However, we've gotten more Metroid then we have gotten Pikmin in the last 10 years. Because of diminishing marginal utility, people will get bored of Metroid, but will crave other games like Pikmin. So, despite the cost of the forgone option is the same for both, it would be better to make Pikmin as consumers have comsumed less Pikmin and would have a higher utility for it.

i feel like there are so many games with little/no info from Nintendo all of a sudden... Zelda Wii mostly, but pikmin 3, SMG2, Metroid other M.

They need to give some info or I'll implode of curiosity eventually >_

I want both games. I would also really like it if NPC Pikmin 2 came out in the US.
