Forums - Nintendo - Q1 Wii games for Japan?

Yeah I was going through this the other day, and really the upcoming Japanese lineup for the Wii is the worst it had since launch, plus there's nothing else announced for it after RE:DSC that will be big, save for DQX in 2012. PS3 should be able to outsell the Wii considering there will be nothing going on for it next year. Not even big 1st party games are scheduled for Japan next year with the exception of SMG2, which won't do anything because it's a direct sequel.

PS3 does have a good lineup indeed, 3rd party devs are already supporting the PS3 much more than the Wii.

PS3 still has Yakuza 4, FFvsXIII, FFXIV, End of Eternity, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Star Ocean 4 International, Super Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition, First of the North Star, Sengoku Basara 3 (Superior version), Ni-Oh, Ar Tonelico 3, Last Rebellion, Trinity Zill'Ol, Quantum Theory, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Dinasty Warriors Troy, BlazBlue Continuum, White Album, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2

Wii has Resident Evil: DSC, No More Heroes 2, Hospital, Sengoku Basara 3 (Inferior version), Tat vs Capcom: US and DQX.

Did I say that? I said there's nothing else ANNOUNCED, read, ANNOUNCED, after Q1 2010. There's only DQX which will arrive in 2012, so what I said is true and you are trying to spin it.

I didn't I was talking 3rd party games. I didn't mention GT5 which will be the biggest game in Q1. Only talking about 3rd party games, it really looks like most are steering away from the Wii.

No, you didn't say much that was true, you said that Wii's lineup for 2010 is weak, when you don't know what games will be in 2010, you're right it hasn't been announced, but that's the point, you don't know, so saying it'll be weak just because you don't know doesn't make your argument true.  Also where is the 2012 release date for DQX coming from?  Again sounds like you're just pulling stuff out and saying its true.  I'm not trying to spin anything, I just see you saying stuff that isn't really supported by anything but your assumptions.

I'm basing myself on the 3 year gap between Dragon Quest main games, looks like you didn't do your research. Plus, 2010 line up for the Wii is extremely weak so far. Considering big games never get announced out of the blue, and that there were no announcements during this year's TGS, it's safe to assume that 2010 will indeed be Wii's weakest year yet.

There's nothing to counteract those games with. Plus Yakuza 4, FFvsXIII, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Star Ocean 4, First of the North Star are not small.

3rd party devs clearly are going away. They haven't announced a game in a long time.

Yeah, so like I said you're making an assumption with the 2012 date, since DQ main games don't come out for portables prior to 9.

 

As for games announcements, there is still plenty of chances for games to be announced for 2010, heck NSMB Wii wasn't announced until E3, so yeah, saying that there will be no announcements because they haven't made them yet is not a logical argument. Companies make announcements all the time, without needing to wait for TGS.

You are clearly have a blurred view, you can't see what's going on with the Wii and 3rd parties in Japan. It's of no use to discuss with you, I should have known better.

That's why I said most. Most games are on the smaller side. We'll see how much they'll boost HW, but FF and MGS are probably later on in 2010 where Nintendo should have their first party stuff more lined up. I don't consider SO big though, at least not with SO4. Not with the terrible word of mouth it had which will probably lower sales.

What do they have? SMG2 won't push consoles, Wii Vitality might, Metroid Other M won't, what else is there? None of the 3rd party games are even semi big.
