^It's not pointless. It's very important that we can rightfully claim that we're on the same level graphically as the PS3 now.

Your comparison is a mess, though, as you're comparing a trailer/cutscene - by which we can't really infer the effective gameplay performance - to what is mostly gameplay screenshots or in-engine, real-time cutscenes.

At least I tried lol.

I keep seeing people say that from a technical standpoint Reach's engine won't be a spectacle. Honestly KZ2 and Uncharted 2 are still far behing the Halo 3 engine in certain aspects while being far ahead in others. Yes Reach won't be the greatest "looking" game ever in terms of textures and just overall graphical appearance. However it will still be FAR ahead of almost any engine to date on consoles in terms of raw processing power for onscreen action and enemy numbers. There are more enemies and vehicles displayed in one chapter of Halo 3 than the entire Kz2 and UC2 campaigns combined. Litteraly.

I agree completely.  The section where you have to take down two scarabs comes to mind.  There are two massive scarabs waling around that has enemies, turrets on it, and a massive beam weapon, banshees flying around, UNSC aircraft that the players can control, ghosts on the ground, wraiths on the ground, enemy ground units on the ground, friendly marines running around, and all this while 4 people can play split screen or online.  All in a massive environment.  Plus, the game is recording every piece of game data for later viewing.

It's not true and you know it.

i agree doesnt look at good as killzone 2 or uncharted 2 but when the final build comes out we will see. The others on this site hit it on the head though, the graphics will never be as good because they have split screen and the ONLY reason that isnt on uncharted 2 is because they would have to compromise significantly the graphics that are on the game.

Exactly. That scene in particular from a technical standpoint is incredible honestly. Just imagine the kinds of things you'll see in Reach. Driveable Scarab anyone? But yes I'm sure KZ2 and UC2 will win the "screenshot war" against Reach but to me if the final game looks like that trailer did and does as large of environments, enemies, vehicles, and large scale battles as halo 3 all while keeping 4 player on one xbox splitscreen its a far more impressive engine.

I agree.  And now think of the fact that there are now 6 spartans that will be running around.

Graphics...yawn.

Is a Van Gogh more aesthetically pleasing than a Pollack? Is Frank Lloyd Wright's style better than Frank Gehry? Does the enjoyment you get out of the gameplay and artistic style of the game you purchased satisfy you? Then who cares if one is "better" than the other. Honestly this whole "whose dick is bigger" argument is getting old. I love Uncharted 2 because the gameplay, in my opinion, is outstanding. The graphics only make it easier to stare at Nate's ass for longer periods of time (which counts for something). Halo has a distinct artistic style, that frankly would look ridiculous in the "real-life" graphics setting of Uncharted 2 or the "technically gorgeous but sterile" setting of KZ2.

And yes these are my opinions.
