i personally don't care about graphics , thats one of the reasons why i ignored Killzone 2 the whole year. because people were boasting about the graphics and since i don't care about graphics i thought the game was like looking at poop in HD graphics and attention to detail , that is until i played it

Theres a reason we want games to be more ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ realistic.

ugly game is like a ugly chick, sure you can play with her but you will always think what if.

hell no,

a graphically amazing game with crappy gameplay is like an ugly girl with too much makeup

Decent controls you can enjoy are easy nuf, no one is asking you to commit.  Just enjoy her for a night or two... a rental.

.....wut?

if you are talking about controls, im not talking about controls, im talking about the most important feature. "fun"

and shed be fun, next day you trade her in.

whast more fun then playing alot of differant games.

Depends on what you mean by "graphics", really.

I don't care much about the technical aspects of a game, but I do care about good art direction and good visuals. You can make a good looking game for any hardware as long as you give consideration to the limits you're given.

That said; More powerful hardware = broader pallette.

For me they are important.

But for example I like Halo 3 more than Killzone 2, so they aren't all important for me, the fun I get from the game is also vital.

But Uncharted 2 has a perfect belend of fun, presentation & graphics!

So Uncharted 2 would be just as enjoyable if the characters were blocky and pixelated with bad lip synching and rigid animations?

Graphics can add tremendously to the overall experience.

Funny, I don't recall any of those things being in RE4 or Twilight Princess.

Besides MGS4, I can't really think of a single game with amazing graphics that really had me hooked.

The only things that really bother me visually are too many jaggies and fugly art styles.

I really don't care too much about graphics that it becomes a buying decision for me. I think art style is far more important for me, some of my favourite games this generation were Bioshock and Assassins Creed.

Graphics matter only to a point. When you first pop-in that game and you are like "wow, this looks nice". However, that can only last so long. It has to be good gameplay and atmosphere that keeps you playing.

I remember an old game for the PS1 called King's Field. It's graphics were subpar compared to many N64 games, but the atmosphere is what kept me and my friend playing.

That being said, a game shouldn't ever have you thinking (that object looks like crap) while in the middle of playing (aka: something looks so bad it breaks immersion). If we do, the developers did not do their job.
