A controller with no sixaxis? That would make games like KZ2 unplayable.

Sony better keep the shelves stocked as much as possible for the holidays because we don't know how long the Slim Effect will still last. Right now is Sony's best chance at increasing their install base.

Only every other Best Buy in Boston has the Slim. It looks like Tretton wasn't BSing us when he talked about upcoming shortages.

The shortages are planned, Tretton have been talking abut this since September.
They probably only want to sell 13 million PS3, let the demand build up until the release the Motion controller and most of their software lineup for next year drops then push out the balance of the 13 million they planned on selling.

I could imagine Sony is on a tight budget, selling more PS3 than they planned could be something they are trying to avoid.
