Forums - Gaming - Am I the only one that liked this game?

I thought it was pretty good. Forcing different character combinations in the beginning was a good way to show the different abilities. Normally I just stick with 3 chars through the entire game. The start is pretty slow but when it finally gets going it is great.

I liked FF12 better, bigger game, lot more things to do and places to explore.

Hated FF10, I had enough of the random meaningless battles every 3 steps. Forget something one town back and you had to fight your way there again for half an hour against monsters that do 1 dmg.

FFXII is the best in my opinion. The only FF story that is not filled with corny love triangles, its political (my favorite thing about it), the battle system is so custimizable its perfect, the only FF worth exploring (FF1-9 just have empty lands to explore (world map) and the rest is pretty linear).

The only things I hated:

-the summons and actually using the summons, was so tideous and not worth it.

-Vaan's face.

-the game ended.

I like FFXII too, it's one of the best for me :P

I just don't understand people who complain about the gambits, I never used them the first time I cleared the game... I remember there was still a "!" mark when I was around 87 hours in the game and checked what it was and then I said "aah, it's this thing that was shown in a tutorial near the beginning of the game, let's try to use this"... and a few minutes later, I was like "crap, my characters don't do what I want them to... bleh, this thing is useless" and went back to selecting everything manually.

Anyways, I think this is one of the FF games that I've played the most, it has a lot of content and secret stuff and a pretty big open world... I like that in FF games.

I don't know where I would rank it though... Final Fantasy VI is number 1 and Final Fantasy VIII is number 2 for me... I don't know if I'd put this one on third place out of the ones I've played.

By the way, Final Fantasy XII looks pretty good on the PS2 emulator, It's worth replaying it on PC if you really like it. It looks waaay better than it does on the PS2.

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

I know Khuutra really likes it.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I thought it was brilliant. My third favourite in the series.

Featured some of the best written characters in the whole series. The story was great as well. Phenominal game.

And it's driving me crazy!

P.S: Was gonna posting something about it, then I saw that I already did, way back when.

its a very good game, i just thought they could have done much better with the story.  to me, the story dealt more with politics than your typical evil guy trying to take over the world in an ff.  not saying theres anything wrong with that, i just got bored with the story after a while. the battle system was very well planned and addictive.  the other thing was the characters were all very forgettable and some of the voice acting was kinda dull. the hunts were very fun as well.

FFXII reminds me of a bad date.

I was very much looking forward to it.   I started out loving it and ended up feeling very let down.  It would have been much better if the atmosphere, characters and gameplay were not such a disappointment.

Tho I will admit, also like a bad date, it is an experience I am glad I didnt miss.

For me, it competes with FF IX for being the worst but I like it a lot nevertheless. Great game if you exclude the story and characters.

You have made a powerful enemy today...

More like I made a powerful enemy in 2009.

 ;)

I think it's one of the best. The main reason i like it it's because there (as far as I played, working on finishing it) is little to no love story. That is something that always bugged me in FF games, the love stories made me gag, especially in VII and X. The combat is great, story is great, the character development with the little checkered board. I don't know why people say it's one of the worst, I guess it was pretty different from X and the others.
