Wow that's some cheap ram. The cheapest I've been able to find is about $79 for 2gb. I live in Canada so we don't get the best tech deals unfortunately.

The good news is I've managed to bend back about 4/5 of the bent pins. One seems to be especially screwed, but I'll see what I can manage.

This is a dumb question, but does anyone know if I can get this to post without ram? searched google and could only find old results.

Just check out the canadian version of newegg.

http://www.newegg.ca

Can get DDR3 RAM there for 50+ bucks.

To get to Windows you`ll need RAM, but for it to POST you can just disable the RAM check in your BIOS if it allows that.

Well, now for some bad news about the mobo.

The fifth pin was bent back upon itself (i have no idea how he managed this). But anyway, upon unbending the tip back to the right position, the part of the pin that contacts the cpu broke off. I did bend it up so that it should touch anyway, but I think getting this board to work is going to be a gamble. I mean, if one point doesn't touch the cpu, it won't work, right?

Guess there's only one way to find out...

Get a sauter and a sautering metal and just put half a drop on it and it should make it touch. Also how the eff did he bend it back on itself?

Eh, I've soldered before a fair bit before, but I'm not sure I trust myself to solder in such a tight space. Would be tough I think.

If you can find a professional who could do it cheaply in your area it would still be a great deal.

Theres a good chance the broken pin is a power/ground pin and these as far as I remember are pretty redundant. So theres a decent chance that inspite of the broken pin the board and CPU will still both work together.
