Well I don't think we'll ever know the answer to that question. It's not about putting up big numbers, the only question that is important to SE is whether the 360 sales are enough to offset the cost of porting the game. As long as they achieve this goal then every additional unit sold on the 360 is extra profit.

Also it's far from certain who will have the dominant console next generation so it probably doesn't hurt SE to move away from the paradigm of only releasing it's major games on Sony consoles and try to broaden their fan base.

No, the extra 2 million copies should go a long way towards making FF13 profitable.

No, they won't regret it. However, I'd like to see what the sales would have been had they not pissed off the PS FF fanboys. Some people took their multiplat movement personally; I wonder how many people jumped ship because of the movement (we call these people extreme fanboys )

Do you think these people really won't buy the game or just made a big fuss at the time but will still buy the game when it comes down to it?

I think a better strategy for SE would have been to keep it exclusive on the ps3 to get the higher playstation sales since that's where the majority of the sales are mostly going to be, AND THEN announce it is coming to the 360 and port it to double dip on sales in 1/2 a year or so.  Sort of like what happened with Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia (only reversed!)  I think (unfortunately) some people are dumb enough not to buy it since it's not exclusive now.  Unfortunate for THEM AND SE AND FINAL FANTASY FANS IN GENERAL that want to see the game sell like dynamite wherever it is (like me).

absolutely NOT...its NOT about selling gang busters on 360 its about Expanding the series past there already loyal fanbase of on PS and getting NEW followers

No

People... this isn't a game that SE would "be happy if the offset costs" with. They want big numbers and big profits. they are expecting close to 10 million in sales and if it doesnt reach that then yes theyd be dissapointed with both versions.

why would they? more people will be able to look into the game, thus more potential buyers....o_O
