Forums - Nintendo - are these sales good for modern warfare wii?

"Hardly anybody who buys this on Wii hasn't already played it on another system."

You got any proof? Any statistical data, to show this. I hope you aren't relying on assumptions and anecdotes.

No. I'm basing this on the fact that shooter fans tend to buy shooters. Few shooter fans have missed what is generally considered one of if not the best FPS this gen.

My point is the game is selling great considering how many people have already played it. I think the sales on other systems prove that it is a pretty popular game played by many people and thus considering that many have already had their fill the sales are great.

This also explains why it is selling slower than W@W a game that nobody could have played beforehand.

Or do you think Reflex is disappointing because it is a better game and selling worse than W@W?

If you want statistics perhaps you should poll us here. I'm willing to bet that 80%+ of the Wii owners on this board with MW:R have played it at least once on PS360 or PC. And for once people on this board might actually be representative of the those buying this game.

I don't see any proof that most shooter fans have played it already. You've have to prove the number of shooter fans is close to the sales of CoD4 first. And a poll of a gaming site is a representative sample of those gamers. If it was, the Wii would have flopped.

This game has no marketing yet. The shooter fans have to know the game is out in the first place to decide if they get it.

This also explains why it is selling slowe r than W@W a game that nobody could have played beforehand.

So to have a conversation I must commission a massive poll likely requiring hiring a pollster to verify bias? Come on man, I know you like to be disagreeable, but that is insanity.

Edit:

This is why ports often sell less than the original. Many people already own it for a different console, or have played it to their contentment before. Certainly advertising helps though- I don't think I disputed that.

Also to be a shooter fan you must play shooters. CoD4 is the current king of that hill. Not having played it is like saying your a survival horror fan and not having played RE or Silent Hill. or an FPS fan whose never played Halo or Half-life.

This game is probably selling to Wii owners who are interested in First Person Shooters and do not own another viable gaming system to play these games on ... If it breaks 1,000,000 units that is a pretty decent statement on the potential sales of a high quality game that is exclusive to the Wii and could attract interest from multi-console owners.

If you make a claim for all or most people of a certain group, you do need something like that. You claimed to know about all shooter fans, or at least most of them.

It's selling well so far, if they start putting out more adverts for it then it might start selling some more...

i may get this (even though I got it on ps3) if the controls are better or as good as the conduit.

They're customisable I believe.
