no LKS? no MPT? weirdly poor list.
NSMB even if didnt play if i've never played the game. The list is week in comparison
I didnt really get on with either LKS or MadWorld.
I found LKS to be repetitive, the controls mediocre and the battle system annoying. Bit of a grind really. Full points for the audiovisual presentation though and I wouldnt mind a sequel to flesh out some of the ideas in the first one.
The gameplay in MadWorld didnt click with me either, I got bored of watching the canned animations over and over very quickly. The first fifteen minutes when you enter the gameworld where pretty awesome though.
On the other hand NSMBWii is a top, top game. Havent had as much fun playing offline multiplayer since SNES mario kart. Love the visuals, love the level design, love the difficulty curve. Great with the girlfriend or with a bunch of mates and some beers.
Top marks to Muramasa too. Very addictive old-school arcade gameplay, brilliant.
Dear oh dear, they've messed up that list thoroughly.
The actual nominations should have been:
New Super Mario Bros
Wii Sports Resort
Little King's Story
Punch Out!
Tiger Woods/ Silent Hill / Demon Blade (I can't choose between these three since I've not played them - but I hear they're all great).
Given that this year was a "software drought" I think it's great that I struggle to whittle the list down to just 5. I think they all have a claim to the crown.

Maworld got a 9 and New Super Mario Bros got an 8.9 even when im sure they are still playing Mario, they cant lost credibility
Guitar Hero 5 is a lot better than 4 (the songs just cant beat GH3) especially on the Wii version, i think its deserved
I feel they are missing somehting... wasnt Rune Factory Frontier released this year?
Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!
