Oh yes it's the season. The season when Pages, blogs and a bunch of guys give prizes that'll be forgotten in a couple of years. So according to IGN, the best Wii games this years are:

My opinion:

Guitar Hero 5: No, just no. You can't throw a random, over milked multiplataform game in the list just because is good
MadWorld: Good game, people complain because it was short, but bigger games are even shorter.
Muramasa: The Demon Blade: Oh what a wonderful game.
New Super Mario Bros: Good I guess
Silent Hill: I receive my copy today, and I'm going to start playing tomorrow.

Little King's Story should be in this list instead of Guitar Hero.

My vote is for NSMB.

I pretty much agree with your analysis, barring MadWorld (just not my cup of tea... I suppose I'd put Wii Sports Resort instead of it).

But looking at that list... it's a no-brainer. I mean, a bunch of niche titles and a 5th guitar hero game against Mario? Come on.

No Wii Sports Resort? (I won't say Wii Fit Plus since that was really a supplement rather than a full game). No Metroid Trilogy? No Beatles: Rock Band (I know that is kind of like listing GH5 -- but it is top 10 all time highest meta score on Gamerankings).

I will get some flak for this, but I don't feel that Muramasa should be on that Wii GOTY list. I played it, and I found it to only be a decent game, albeit a pretty looking one. I agree that Wii Sports Resort should be on there.
