PSP had some amazing games this year, and DS didn't. Now, of course the DS stomped PSP sales wise, but thats not what were talking about.

Not an absolute, just a point in the right direction.

They dont track every game... And for the most part, have too many/too few reviews for certain games, compared to others.

Well according to meta-analysis:critic-meta edition, metacritic.com is the best, most reliable quality indicator of all critics and meta critic sites.

LOL is all I can say to those people. They really need to check their sources again. Metacritic is simply an indicator of what critics thought of a game. THAT'S IT. Is the game good or does it suck? Check metacritic. IT CAN'T be used to compare games. We can't say a game is the best of all time based on it's metascore. And we sure as shit can't say a console had a better year than the rest because of it.

If we were to take Metacritic seriousley, then Xbox 360 pretty much has this generation on lock in terms of games. We'd also have to accept that Wii has only 9 AAA games, four of which are ports of earlier games.

But the latter half - "justification for the statement that the PS3 has the best games" - holds up, right?

The psp is alot more powerful than the DS..Sony dropped the ball on this awsome piece of hardware because it have been alot bigger than what it is now.

@Bolded part - WHAT??? Dude DS has absolutley stomped on PSP in terms of software....EVERY YEAR since it has been released.

Actually, they tied in overall median metascore.  The PSP had a higher percentage of its games get good reviews, while the DS had three times as many games released.  So the DS actually had almost twice as many highly rated games.  Which seems about right, doesn't it?
