The technology is there for them to make a game that doesn't take away from his amazing magical art.

DOWN with gurglesletch's Fallout 3 idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey
I prefer and love Nomura's style, but Yoshitaka Amano has a very unique art style and definitely deserves to be shown more than just logos and random art/covers.

This make me think that its maybe him that dont want to get involve more. Maybe he has other things that he prefer working on. I cant see how a company would remove a guy that worked on 6 previously succesful games.

Unless his art style just didn't work with the move to the early 3D Playstation and after Nomura had such a huge success with Final Fantasy VII, they didn't want the hot streak to end, but I think it's time for a game series where Amano gets to take back the helm of the art.
He's magical.

Im pretty sure its him that dont want too. If he would like to do that, he could easily find a job in another company or another project no?
Everything Final Fantasy?
As far as we all know (well, most of us, as you seem out of that lot), Kitase has been at the helm of the main franchise for quite some time now, going way back to when Sakaguchi was the executive producer.
