Forums - General - Musical Decades Game: 60's Artist Nominations

Phew.

@Rath:

One could vote for Bob Dylan for pretty much every decade in this competition

Around the Network

1. Beatles

2. Bob Dylan

3. The Supremes

okay, on the rules front: You can vote for upto 3 artists, that means if you only like 1 from a certain decade, thats okay, you can vote for artists in more than 1 decade, HOWEVER an artist can only be enter the Grand Final once, so if an artist wins 2 decades, I will have a vote for which decade should be in the final.

The Beatles
The Temptations
Roy Orbison

beatles

Around the Network

The beatles
The rolling stones

The Beatles
Jimi Hendrix
Bob Dylan

Pretty simple choice really. I would have nominated Pink Floyd but their best work is in the 70's no the 60's.

Bob Dylan
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
The Who
Stevie Wonder
Aretha Franklin
Marvin Gaye
Smokey Robinson
Roy Orbinson
The Byrds
Beach Boys
James Brown
Sam Cooke
Otis Redding
Ray Charles
The Supremes
The Four Tops
Derek & the Dominos
The Kinks
The Small Faces
Martha Reeves & The Vandellas
The Yardbirds
Cream
The Band
Simon & Garfunkel
The Mamas & The Papas
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Janis Joplin
The Doors
Jimi Hendrix
Sam Cooke
Wilson Pickett
Ike & Tina Turner
Booker T. & The MG's
Phil Spector
Holland, Dozier & Holland
Burt Bacharach & Hal David

So only 3, and if I understand the rules correctly, it's not about who we think were most influential, but about personal preference?

Okay, as my vote for Bacharach & David won't count anyway (they are commonly "just" considered as composers/producers), here's my vote:

The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
Aretha Franklin

Sorry Stevie & Marvin, you get my 70s vote.

Herbert von Karajan

I guess nearly nobody of you know him, but take it from me, that Akio Morita was one of his biggest fans.
