Forums - PC - MAC or PC

Hmmm, whoever posted originally was perma banned?

PC for games and general boring work, Mac for graphic design and 'cool' work. IMHO. I go back and forth accordingly - which sounds like a terrible double entendre.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Linux

Linux is for people who have nothing better to do than waste their time on fancy stuff, which does the same amount of work as a normal PC..only longer. So..Mac..rich snobs who think they are hip and cool with fance words like Linux...PC for a normal person who doesn't enjoy screwing around with ass OS.

That's about as likely as me playing by somebody elses rules, which I would never do. I only play by my own rules, nobody elses...not even my own.

lol, ignorance is bliss.  Have you actually used these operating systems you are attacking?

You do have to learn how to do things differently when you use linux, which I am not convinced would be any more difficult than Windows if you had learned it first.

After you learn how to use it, most things are easier to use than Windows.  Things like software installation, networking, printers, etc. are easier to do with Linux.  Often, drivers for hardware such as HP printers simply install what is necessary for the operation of the printer instead of a bunch of other crap.  Most hardware will auto install drivers, without you having to go out and find the file.  Windows 7 has made efforts in this regard, but Linux was doing it first.  Updates are easier in Linux, as updates for almost all of your programs are located in one area.  Must of Ubuntu software is open source, meaning that it is more compatible with other programs instead of Microsoft products that are usually only compatible with other Microsoft products.  Also, Linux typically does not get viruses (whether it is more secure or less exploited, it doesn't matter.  It is more secure btw).  With all these things that are easier, you also have total control over almost every aspect of the software (unless you install proprietary software).

Mac is great for people who wish the OS is invisible.  This describes most casual users, who sees the OS as a necessary evil to get to their web browser or email.  I use it when i want to do any non-multimedia activities I would normally do on my Windows 7 gaming PC attached to my TV.  Macs also don't usually get viruses.  At least, I haven't gotten one.  I haven't gotten one of my Windows 7 PC either, but I know better than to browse the internet on it.

This is all based on personal experience.

My Windows 7 and XP computers are always increasing my list of things that are easier to do on Mac/Linux.  Windows' biggest strength is that everyone uses it.

I don't know why I bother with people who quite obviously is biased towards Windows.

The biggest question you need to ask is what can I afford. A standard mac run around 1200-2000 which is enough to purchase an alienware laptop and blow the mac out of the water.

Or build the same thing yourself as a small form factor desktop for $700-800 and blow the Alienware one out of the water.

I have had both, Mac is honestly superior in every way minus compatibility issues sometimes but that can be worked around. PC's get run down and slow really fast. I can restart my mac 7times or so in the time my buddy can restart his new pc 1 time. Mac is the only way to go

cool story bro

I love how in the (way too many) mac vs pc threads people bring up (some of the most retarded) anecdotal evidence, as if it's worth anything.

No one cares if you got a virus. This is your fault. Please accept the blame. Plz install anti virus. There are tons of (great) free programs out there.

No one cares if your Mac is super fast compared to your friends PC, or even if your PC is superfast compared to your friends Mac. Obviously this is going to be different for every computer in the world depending on hardware.

Any other "well my PC did this" or "well my uncle's mac does this" isn't worth anything. No one cares. No one cares.

I love how threads like this get enormous amounts of FUD from people who have probably never used the operating systems they're attacking for more than a little while, yet still feel the need to spread lies over the internet.

GhostofRubangB's Mac post is hilariously incorrect, for example. There are just so few mac users here that nobody wants to call him out on it. I don't see how you could take a post like that as anything other than blatant trolling.
