PC - MAC or PC - View Post

Linux is for people who have nothing better to do than waste their time on fancy stuff, which does the same amount of work as a normal PC..only longer. So..Mac..rich snobs who think they are hip and cool with fance words like Linux...PC for a normal person who doesn't enjoy screwing around with ass OS.

lol, ignorance is bliss.  Have you actually used these operating systems you are attacking?

You do have to learn how to do things differently when you use linux, which I am not convinced would be any more difficult than Windows if you had learned it first.

After you learn how to use it, most things are easier to use than Windows.  Things like software installation, networking, printers, etc. are easier to do with Linux.  Often, drivers for hardware such as HP printers simply install what is necessary for the operation of the printer instead of a bunch of other crap.  Most hardware will auto install drivers, without you having to go out and find the file.  Windows 7 has made efforts in this regard, but Linux was doing it first.  Updates are easier in Linux, as updates for almost all of your programs are located in one area.  Must of Ubuntu software is open source, meaning that it is more compatible with other programs instead of Microsoft products that are usually only compatible with other Microsoft products.  Also, Linux typically does not get viruses (whether it is more secure or less exploited, it doesn't matter.  It is more secure btw).  With all these things that are easier, you also have total control over almost every aspect of the software (unless you install proprietary software).

Mac is great for people who wish the OS is invisible.  This describes most casual users, who sees the OS as a necessary evil to get to their web browser or email.  I use it when i want to do any non-multimedia activities I would normally do on my Windows 7 gaming PC attached to my TV.  Macs also don't usually get viruses.  At least, I haven't gotten one.  I haven't gotten one of my Windows 7 PC either, but I know better than to browse the internet on it.

This is all based on personal experience.

My Windows 7 and XP computers are always increasing my list of things that are easier to do on Mac/Linux.  Windows' biggest strength is that everyone uses it.

I don't know why I bother with people who quite obviously is biased towards Windows.
