Many people consider Silent Hill 2 one of the best horror games ever...then SH4 and Homecoming seemed to have disappointed many.

 

I must say, Alan Wake looks better and better everytime something new about it is released...but do you think "this gen´s SH2" is way too premature?..or not quite?

I sure hope so! Can't wait for this game, been waiting for a decent SH game for ages, so this'll make up for it.

I dont like the look of alan wake. Most survival horrors this gen have been crap. Silent hill this gen has been rubbish. Though i dont expect alan wake to me much better at all.

I think Dead Space will be the SH of this gen. With the way things are going anyway

I dont know. Silent hill really didn't change much. Peoples expectations did. Part 4 was a little weird and Homecoming was a little pedestrian in execution but the games were still solid.

I hope its better than Silent Hill 2 to be honest. That avenue has been explored already...

You're joking right? Psychological and atmosphere horror vs twich action shooter horror.

It is looking to be pretty good, not sure if it will go down as a classic though. Not one for horror games, but I think I will give this one a try.

From what I've seen so far, yeah. Not all unlikely that by the end of this gen it'll be the best Horror/Thriller game out there.

I have to disagree with the silent hill '2' being the best survival horror game of last gen. I say the reigning king was either the silent hill 3 (true sequel to 1) and Resident Evil 4. silent hill 2 had no where near the atmosphere that 3 had.

I think that it will probably (Alan Wake) be a very good survival horror title for this generation; but I still think that Dead Space has this generation on lockdown when it comes to being the best survival game this generation.
