Forums - Sales - Which game will sell more. Heavy Rain or Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey easily. Although Heavy Rain will be a great game and may sell more at launch, there is no way it can be compared to Mickey on the wii.

Epic Mickey, when DIsney is invovled, they advertise in all the disney stuff. Because it is a Disney GAme, it will be covered by Disney channel for a few months to make sure it sells.

Nah, Mickey will probably sell more all around. Doesn't make HEAVY RAIN a failure if it doesn't sell more, but in a less desired genre, with non-mass appealing gameplay.

I agree with you. Just saying it "may" outsell mickey at first, but I don't really think so. And yes, I think Heavy Rain will do great too. I just think Epic Mickey will have... well, epic sales (for a 3rd party anyway).

Sigh, CGI, why do you always think someone is agressive when he asks a question about David Cage or Heavy Rain.

A suspense thriller is an adventure as well, just like Myst was an adventure, King's Quest, Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry, The Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, Fahrenheit, the two games pictured on the middle and the right of my sig and some hundred others.

Adventure is one of the oldest genres in videogaming history (and my favourite one).

Why is everybody actin like Mickey Mouse meand automatic big???? I mean hes a dead ICON in todays generation.. in 2005 or 6 there was a test given to kids as who was more recongnizable MARIO or MICKEY MOUSE?... MARIO beat MICKEY MOUSE by alot( hell i believe SONIC did too). Now EM will definitely outsell HR, but I think ppl are makin too much fuss out of something thats really not that big.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't classify it as an adventure either. Nothing against adventures, they are one of my favorite genres too.

epic mickey to me,i expect heavy rain to hit 500k first year if its any good, where as mickey plus wii despite style or reviews may sell upwards of 5 million on name alone...perfect example sonic and mario olympic games.

To me. This is the mickey of my generation

not this one

To me, with the art-style, I think it would sell slightly better than Okami.

But hey, just my opinion

@Rol: The name change may sound stupid at first, but it makes sense considering Mickey Mouse is called Micky Maus in Germany and Austria.

No, I am not talking about the missing "e", because that indeed makes sense. The title Micky Epic just doesn't say a lot, they would have been better off by giving the game a German name. Either that, or stick with Epic Micky.

I agree. I also don't understand why they switched the words. My guess: They wanted to have Micky in the front of the title, but if that's true it would have been better (and somewhat cool) imo if they'd just called it Micky over here.
