Currently the fastest selling home consoles top 4 is this.

1. Wii
2. PS2
3. PS3
4. PS1

Will it be the same when the next financials come in? Who knows... Is PS3 currently selling faster than PS1 was at the same stage in its life? Yes.

@cgi-quality - Funny how ps3/sony fans are quick to point out the PSP sells no software because it is pirated.

Yest the xbox 360 is a sales MONSTER with the highest attach rate of any console EVER despite being pirated.

Also amazing is the fact that the ps3 has cost sony 5-6 billion dollars of losses. It has lost more money than any game machine in the history of game machines.

Yes, the ps3 is selling on par with the ps1...it is also only 250 million dollars away from wiping out every yen of profit the ps1 ever made. Ps2 profits have been wasted long ago.

you think maybe just maybe thsoe many billions of loses were calulated before hand, and the math showed that winning the format war was worth it to Sony overall. They knew how much they would lose cause guess what they designed the hardware and build it.  They ran the numbers.

WTF is so hard to understand, Sony looks as this as a whole not just SCE.  Thats why they have eaten the costs all this time, its not rocket science.

Whats amazing is that it will make up those billions and turn billions in profits, its already given Sony a huge revenue source with BR victory next it will open up music and movie downloads sales through PS3. 

PSn/home might/probably will end up Sonys music/movies/tvShow/games rental stream sale what ever outlet of the future.

@cgi - I said in this thread the ps3 sales of GTA 4 for were good, and well above my expectations.
I am not anti-ps3.

I went off topic because CARL started talking about the ps3 being the 3rd fastest selling console which had NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING.

So I took the liberty and supplied some interesting facts of my own.

The smart gamers bought GTA on Xbox 360. That explains it all.
