Forums - Gaming - Will the sales gap for the next GTA game be as large as it was for GTA 4?

Not that much of a big "gap" when you take into account the Exclusive stuff, advertising and console gap. Should have been much bigger.

Point to note -

GTA4 PS3 2009 Sales - 767,419
GTA4 360 2009 Sales - 731,028

This.

I bought GTA IV for PS3 but EFLC for 360.

Taht gap is not too large. Next GTA sales probably will be almost same on both console.

@Cgi - "Slap in the face" .... huh??

Tales of liberty city and the two downloadable contents packs have already outsold killzone 2.

I would love to get a "slap in the face" that made money like that.

Wasn't aware of this. And with Microsoft's two exclusive episodes, this has to be a slap in the face.

Erm, take a look at how Episodes from Liberty City is selling + however many downloaded the episodes instead of buying the disc + GTA IV has been on Games on Demand for some time now.

They should have already outsold Killzone 2 as it's freaking GRAND THEFT AUTO we're talking about. How is Killzone 2 even comparable to that in anyway?

Considering the investment, no matter how you choose to spin it, the fact that GTA IV on PS3 has stayed ahead of the 360(despite userbase differences here) in sales in 2009, isn't something I would think Micorsoft would be happy about.

Edit: the manwithnoname: Why so defensive? I swear some of you guys get so personal about this stuff, it's ridiculous.

I'm not being defensive, but why would Microsoft care about the sales of GTA IV at this point? The DLC is selling well, and Microsoft is making money on that. They're not paying close attention to how GTA IV is selling right now when they have DLC in disc form exclusive to their console that's selling pretty darn well. Bringing up those numbers is making a big deal out of nothing.

Yeah, you're right carl, Microsoft is just crying that GTA sold better on PS3 this year! In fact, they've decided to leave the console market entirely as a result of this cotastrophe! I mean seriously, come back when you understand how a business works. Oh but wait, I forgot, it's just "glorified DLC" isn't it?
