is that it's sold out in every Best Buy or Futureshop here in Canada!!!

I'm buying a Wii for my family this Christmas, and they have their buy 2 get one free sale. The problem is I haven't found a store that actually has it in stock even though it says its in stock online.

Plan on getting NSMB Wii, Dead Space Extraction... and still deciding on the third if you have any suggestions...

which bestbuy stores have you been checking?

I just did a quick on store RSS check. ALL bestbuy store has it. Many Toronto store has more than 40 copies

Nice try though

I'm serious... yesterday I was AT stores in mississauga.

Today I'll try in Toronto.

BestBuy on Young & Dundas has some - by Eaton Center.

Are you working for BestBuy/Futureshop or something?

You didn't believe me either in my thread.

Yes, or else i wouldn't have access to internal stock count such as RSS.

And the incentive for lying about a game not being on the shelves is? I'd tend to trust them having been there over the notoriously unreliable computerized stock systems. The guy doesn't even own a Wii himself, so I see no reason why he would try and make NSMB Wii look like it is in more demand than it is.

Just to add I worked a BB store #007 almost 10 years ago now and the stock listed vs. what we actually had was quite often different. I would always check the shelves before I told someone to make the trip.

well, I wouldn't want to judge what kind of software tracking system they had 10 years ago.... but I would like to think it has improved upon as of late.

we aren't talking about a 3 dollars cable showing 1 in stock but couldn't be found. we are talking about 60 dollars games and minimal 20 per store

Funny enough BB does still use the same tracking system as they did back in the day- the GUI hasn't changed an inch. I was a printer rep on and off until a year ago and my original login still worked at that time 8 years after I had quit. I can't tell you how many times customers showed up after being sent from one store to the next after getting a bad reading. Usually it was off by one, or the idiot from the other store forgot to mention that 1 in stock was actually the unsellable display model.

Also as you know the stock is just what has been scanned in (as opposed to in transit or whatever). Thus unless something has changed an item that arrives but is being held for a sale is still listed as in stock even if it is unavailable on the floor.

The day before black Friday in '07 I had a customer come in for one of my lasers. None on the floor, checked stock said we had 40. Went into the warehouse and found out that they were being held for a doorbusters and I wasn't able to provide one to the customer.

Point being you know as well as I do that there are often many reasons why something may be listed as stocked but not actually be available. If there is some special offer for Wii games it would hardly surprise me to see BB try to hold back on all the good games that would sell on their own.

Accusing somebody of being a liar requires a pretty high level or certainty, which I think you have not been able to provide. Remember people need motive nad opportunity. I see opportunity but not a reason to lie.

I went there!

There was a clerk running around who said the computer said they had 30 copies but noone could find where they were... didn't see any copies there or at the futureshop across the street.

You need to update your games on your profile page so I can help you out!

Or you can try the Wii Recommendation Guide in the Nintendo forums (shameless plug).

As for the games you do have... lemme see if I can help:

Uncharted 2: You might want to try out Metroid Prime Trilogy, which is a compilation of the Prime games. For why it's similar to Uncharted? Well, lots of exploration with intense combat and great atmosphere.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" Monster Hunter 3.

Street Fighter 4: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Guilty Gear, Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution.

Valkyria Chronicles: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Dead Space: Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Whoa, nice list of recommendations.

I was looking at RE 4 and Monster Hunter 3, which is something I would have bought but I don't think it's released here until 2010.

Another problem I have with recommendations is when I finally get to the store none of those games are there :(
