When you talk about that crazy person, Shane Shattenfield, I cant help but think about this guy showing up at 0.50

"blablanewsupermariobroswiiaintcoreblablablamodernwarfare2blablablamodernwarfare2blahnintendooffendmeblah"

Pretty much sums the guy up.

Wow, I had no idea he had a brief career in Hollywood. Great find.

I think Pachter is right when he more or less said that the Wii needs a reboot. The situation with Motion plus, HD TVs, storage limits, WiiWare size limits, piracy, their online model, region locking, graphics limits. But Ninty will probably see what happens with Natal/Wand before doing anything.

They do need more exciting titles, every big release it seems is an old franchise or new casual/kiddie title, or its on rails. They need a guilty pleasure bombastic over-hyped type title x)

I think Wii has proven that if Ninty made no money at all on the console, they can still sell warehouses worth of a Wii Sports title.

Just that would be with the next system, to give a totally fresh start.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Wii would only need a reboot if it were selling less than the competition on a continuous basis WW, or not making a profit for Nitnendo, otherwise Nintendo can just wait until next gen

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Keep in the back of your minds that Pachter may be right. I agree with you that it doesn't make sense, but let's be honest we don't really know.

I think what's really absurd is the logic and overall attitude, not the ideas themselves. Anything is possible.

But if Nintendo wont do anything they will risk that Natal and wand sweep the wii away. They have to introduce something new, or boost the motion plus the best they can. Anyway a restyling for the console is necessary.

I don't know about Natal, really. It came out 4 years after the Wii motion control and now, casual won't move to Xbox because besides of Natal there's not much appealing to them. And they already bought a Wii, and casual people don't own 2 systems at a time.

Maybe Natal will be a big flop. Maybe it will be a success. Nintendo has the next gen to deal with Natal. Maybe Natal is the next Xbox system for a long time?

natal is gonna be a huge success highly potential to be a revolution
its gonna sell alot of Xbox 360s

If Nintendo are to follow up on their supposed "DS bussiness model" on Wii, im pretty damn certain it will have some kinda reboot in 2010. I put money on a Wii with a slight redesign, a new wiimote with built in motion plus and improved online, as well as an SSD and new pack in game. But it will have very similar internal specs.

Imagine an original DS to DSi leap.

LOL!! Sweep the Wii away? Okay dude.

What I think is hilarious, is all the "Nintendo is teh dooomezed!!" talked when they are hands down the market leader. Was there "Sony is doomed" talk when they were clearly the market leader last gen? It's pretty pathetic. Nintendo needs to do nothing but stay on their gameplan, which is to release some awesome games.
