We just had a printout from the internet. There is no print ad.
It just occurred to me that for a 100 bucks and 5 free movies, they might as well give the player away for free, with the purchase of any 5 movies. I think they'd get more money that way, and people would get the player for free. How can you turn that down? Honestly I had no intention of getting an HD player this early in the battle of formats but I may pick one up with how cheap they are.

What Fishy said. You have to mail in the rebate form and wait 10 weeks. However, Best Buy has a special where you can get 2 free in-store HD DVDs whenever you buy ANY HD DVD player. I think they are offering the same thing on Blu Ray players as well.
So, at Wally World, you get 5 free movies and BB offers you 7 free movies. However, when I got my deal, they were also offering Heroes boxset HD DVD and King Kong was packed in the Xbox HD DVD.

No, what the folks that sold you the player are hoping is ... that you forget and don't mail off the form. I saw a stat once that said like 70 percent of rebates are never sent off. The odds are against you sending off your rebate ...

You won't able to find any A2s at walmart after the sale after today. The A2 is a discontinued model so there won't be any more shipments. |
Yeah, they are trying to clear space for the A3. They sold out in about 30 minutes. There was almost a fight when one guy tried to grab one out of turn.
I think this will prove that whichever format gets to the $100 dollar barrier first will win. People that were in line were only buying it because of the price. They would not have been buying it otherwise, including myself.

Good luck. Like I said earlier. You just need to NOT take no for an answer.

Yeah, i've seen one or two. I wouldn't suggest them. |
OK. I gotta chime in here. "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is possibly my favorite movie. Peter Sellers and George C. Scott are just phenomenal in this movie. It was just hysterical if you like satire/dark humor. If you only see one Kubrick film, make it this one.
I also enjoyed Clockwork Orange, 2001, and Barry Lyndon.

Dr. Strangelove is one of the greatest comedies of all time. George C. Scott and Peter Sellers are brilliant.
"But, but, he'll see the BIG BOARD!" or when Sellers calls the President Mein Fuhrer... Absolutely cutting edge stuff for the time.
Other Kubrick movies that are must-sees:
- A Clockwork Orange (originally banned in Britain because of its topic)
- 2001: A Space Odyssey (IMO, the greatest sci-fi flick ever... definitely the most intelligent)
- Full Metal Jacket (if you're not riveted by the first half hour of that film, you're probably dead)
- The Shining (I still can't understand why Stephen King so hated this film... it's one of the best based on his books)
- Lolita (very edgy for its time)
- Spartacus (epic movie)
I still haven't seen the entirety of Barry Lyndon but I've heard it's good. Kubrick was one of the most influential directors of all time; I don't understand how someone could say that his films weren't good.
