Forums - Nintendo - EA: Wii is "confounding," but EA is happy with its success on platform

Poor EA, they do try hard ...

Which despite how the gaming press wants to paint it, most of the developers working on the Wii are doing. They still have to figure it out (and Monster Hunter shows that the big games can work on the Wii as well as the HD systems), but it's still more than the gaming press wants.

So unlike Maelstrom, I don't want the gaming industry to die, I just want them to get a clue sooner. It's the gaming press that needs to go away, to make room for a smarter one (that goes back to reviewing games on their own merits for one thing).

By MOST, do you mean over 50%!? Because if you do then I call big time BS. Go have a look at Metacritic and you then tell me what the average score per game is!

(I really don't want to debate whether Meta is a proper gauge or not. I think everyone agrees that it's o.k.)

Around the Network

Sales matter more for those companies bottom lines, and as shown, Wii sells more thrid party games. Just that the gaming press selectively chooses the big HD hits to counter that, ignoring how rare they are (and that selling a million copies isn't even a guarantee of profit on them).

So third parties need to make more good games, but they are making games at all is important.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

heres an easy test. have EA force Bioware to make Mass Effect 1 & 2, or Dragon Age for the Wii(Both with severe graphics drop). I garuntee they will sell. Not as well as an original release and get that dated release drop, but it will still sell well.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Nope, those are PC style games. I don't see stuff like that selling well on a true console like the Wii is. After all, being a console is the reason why the Wii itself sold so well in the first place.

This reminds me.

One series I think could do really well if ported to the Wii or something, was Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Why do they only make kiddie games for the wii? They need to make some adventure and action games similar to jak and daxter but new obviously.
