too many people think that unpredictable means software failing. for example i dont think EA thought that the boob blox franchise would be as successful as it was

No blog could use it and remain safe for work.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Which despite how the gaming press wants to paint it, most of the developers working on the Wii are doing. They still have to figure it out (and Monster Hunter shows that the big games can work on the Wii as well as the HD systems), but it's still more than the gaming press wants.
So unlike Maelstrom, I don't want the gaming industry to die, I just want them to get a clue sooner. It's the gaming press that needs to go away, to make room for a smarter one (that goes back to reviewing games on their own merits for one thing).

I for one am absolutely disgusted by the software on the Wii. I stood at the vg store today and there was LITERALLY NOTHING on the Wii shelf I wanted. The shocking fucking thing is that they don't have any of the AAA games that are on the Wii on display. No Mario. No Zelda. No Metroid. It's a fucking disgrace.
For the first time I can understand (note: not agree) why almost everyone thinks the Wii is a joke and only for kids.
EDIT: I forgot housewives
EA can expect serious sales only when they will release a serious game with a lot of production value, and as much as i like Rail Shooters you cant expect amazing sales in that genre.
