Pros

  • Awesome graphics and scenery
  • Melee combat was improved
  • No more sixaxis for grenade aiming!!
  • Great blends with gameplay and cutscenes. This was a fantastic cinematic experience that puts MGS4 to shame.
  • Great gameplay and good controls
  • Good story and lovable characters
  • Great sound effects, voice acting and the music was okay.
  • Lots of great moments like the tank battle and train level.
  • Stealth addition was nice. You got a choice to quietly take out a few enemies before going rambo or whatnot.
  • Co-op is fun

Cons

  • Guardians were stupid. They take so much damage, and you have no idea if you're hurting them or not. When I first encountered it, I used up a whole clip, and I wondered if I was doing the right thing or using the right weapon.
  • Fighting multiple guardians. It was annoying that you had two guardians running around and one with a grenade just waiting for you. It was just plain annoying.
  • Cover system was annoying, especially in tight areas.
  • AI was kind of stupid, especially in the museum part. The stealth there felt very scripted.
  • Puzzles were disappointing, and they practically give you the answer. I took a while to find a way to climb the statue, so I can move around his arms. When I got up there, a message appeared saying to match the arms position with the ones in my journal. Pretty stupid. The other puzzles had the similar thing.
  • Boss battles, for the most part, sucked. The last boss was annoying, especially with the grenades. The train guy was so lame.
  • I agree with twesterm about picking up weapons/ammo: sometimes when I wanted to pick up ammo, Drake would pick up a different weapon because it was lying right next to it. This stuff happened with multiple weapons throughout the whole game. It was frustrating.
  • Multiplayer: Matchmaking was terrible. Sometimes it would take a while to find players. Also when I first played multiplayer, I got paired up with a bunch of people ranked in the 30s, 40s. WTF? Can't you pair me up with someone with the same level as me? And another thing, sometimes the teams would be unbalanced. You don't know how many times my team consisted of 1 - 17s, while the other team consisted of 23 - 40s. Terrible stuff there Naughty Dog.
  • Penalty system = bad. If I got disconnected, I would still get penalized. There were many times where I wanted to quit because I got paired up with higher leveled players. Because of the poor matchmaking and penalty system, I quit playing Uncharted 2's multiplayer. It pretty ruined my enjoyment on the multiplayer.

The last parts of the game were extremely annoying, but overall I enjoyed the SP campaign. ND just needs to work on some of the online stuff. It's my favorite game this year, but 2009 kind of sucked for gaming, imo.

Score: 8.5

Some of those look like you copied them exactly from my reply but they're a little diffierent.

I guess great minds think alike... :-p

10, obviously
Probably the best multiplayer game I've ever played.
Story is amazing, and the few parts that are slow (like the beginning and for some reason, replay of climbing the train) are made up for by the sheer epicness of the levels. Everything just was so exciting and well put together.
If I could have one criticism, it would be that there was slightly too much climbing, but everything else was just too overwhelming to give the game less than a 10.

Seriously, best multiplayer game of the gen, hands down.

9.9

The game although flawed, delivered like no other.
The dialogue was absolutely magnificent.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

9/10

+ Graphics
+ Story
+ Voice acting
+ Gameplay

- Multiplayer

Don't feel like listing pros and cons on this one.

It's the bolded :p

Your reply reminded me of the things I disliked about U2, so I made a note of that. Didn't realize the wording ended up being similar to yours. I should've just quoted you and added a few things.

10/10

Uncharted 2 is one of the 2 best games I have ever played (along with MGS4). The characters, the gameplay, the story, the visuals and graphics, the scenarios, the action, EVERYTHING is inccredible about this game. Naughty Dog has stepped it up from Uncharted 1 in EVERY way. The gameplay and the action (in cutscenes AND gameplay) are the 2 major improvements from Uncharted 1. The gameplay in general was made much smoother in Uncharted 2, while various additions to the gameplay were also made: more as well as different weapons, no mandatory sixaxis grenade throwing, blindfire reticle, stealth kills, ability to throw propane tanks and explode them in mid-air, etc. As for the action? Unbelievable, jawdropping, and virtually unparalleled. Some of Uncharted 2's action sequences were so incredible and intense they actually made me laugh bc of how cool they were.

Naughty Dog, in Uncharted 1 and even further in Uncharted 2, created not only an immersive and Hollywood-quality story, but imo even more importantly they have created strong, life-like, loveable characters. Because of this, a player becomes immersed in Uncharted 2 and can actually feel a connection with the characters. Not many games accomplish this, let alone to the same degree as Naughty Dog.

Uncharted 2, imo, has one flaw: along with being so much like a Hollywood action movie, it unfortunately did one of the major things I hate about an action movie...at some points throughout the story, events occurred that were over the top, ridiculous, and/or completely unbelievable. The best movie and scene example I can think of portraying the ridiculousness I'm talking about is the movie XXX with Vin Diesel. In the very beginning of the movie, Mr. Diesel is trying to escape an area enclosed with a 20ft+ fence. He's riding around on a dirtbike, and out of nowhere, without ramp, rocket booster, or superpowers, Vin bunnyhops 20ft+ into the air and completely clears the fence. The rest of the movie was tainted for me because of this idiotic scene. Anyways, Uncharted 2 is a fantastic game, but it did have a few over-the-top and unbelievable scenes. The 2 main ones that stick out are 1) Every time someone leaps off a ledge over a huge gap and is caught by the hand of another person. 2) When (minor spoiler just ahead) Drake and Elena's truck goes off the edge of the mountain and they manage to somehow bail and catch the side of the mountain. These moments in Uncharted 2 certainly didn't ruin the campaign for me, it was way too good to be ruined. But, they were definite annoyances to me, and I became irritated when they happened.

Now, if I was grading Uncharted 2 on simply the campaign, I would probably give it a 9.8 or 9.9 because of what I just mentioned. BUT...I feel the multiplayer for Uncharted 2 MORE than makes up for that .1 or .2. I'll be honest, I am almost completely a single player guy. I have tried online multiplayer for fps's (Killzone 2, Halo, resistance 1 & 2, Modern Warfare 2, etc.) as well as other games, and I just do not enjoy deathmatch and other multiplayer game modes. The only games I have ever gotten into online were Resistance 2 for it's online CO-OP (not multiplayer) and LittleBigPlanet. But I have NEVER enjoyed multiplayer...until Uncharted 2. Not only do I enjoy Uncharted 2's multiplayer, but I am completely hooked! I LOVE IT! It's a blast to play.

Uncharted 2 is a true masterpiece. You know a game is good when, after 100 reviews, not a single one was less than a 90/100. I think everyone has to at least try this game, campaign AND multiplayer...I don't see how you could be anything but blown away.

(I hope this was enough to be able to look past my <100 posts)

Graphics are the best and the game really fleshes out the characters with engaging personalities.

Online is also incredibly expansive and much more than a mere add-on.

Overall, I love it to bits; GOTY for me.

10/10

9.8 for me. Fantastic story, gameplay, graphics, and voice acting all around. It's very easy to get attached to the character's.

if i wasn't still busy playing it, i'd give it a 10!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
