Folk Rock?

Musical taste is a personal thing, but just like clothing is a personal thing, people will still look and giggle, point and laugh then steal your pink unicorn shirt and throw it on the elementary school roof.

 Folk Rock... dint think I ever listened to that.. unless Flogging Molly falls under that.. but I think Flogging Molly falls under Irish Rock.

Kid Rock is garbage.
How easy is it to sell albums with a name like "Rock n Roll Jesus", combining the two things that are most appealing to your average semi-ignorant everyman? I mean, what's his follow-up going to be, "Deer Huntin' with Dale"?
(that's a reference to Dale Earnhardt, before any of the slower of you even ask)
Anything as mainstream and contrived as Kid Rock's music will never appeal to me.

I love musical genres. "No, that's no progressive, that's more alternative. What about Nu? maybe Nu, but it also has some influences from modern, so it's alternative. Oh, makes sense"

 and how old are you? if you know Kid Rock's CD Titles you will know they are all based on the name of one of the songs on the album. American bad Ass, Devil Without a Cause, etc. All great songs and great albums. I'd like you to look back and listen to his songs. 

 Celtic Punk or Irish Punk or something like that.  But Punk Rock is still Rock so why not.

Trust me, I've been casually exposed to Kid Rock's "music" for year by the radio and a few friends with poor taste in music. So the album is named after a song? Big deal. Come up with a lucrative concept, name a song *and* an album after it. Now you've got a readymade hit single as well.

Edit: I'm 19 in a week, though I can't really grasp how that's relevant.

 And I'm not bashing your liking his music, I'm just saying that his music is based around an image contrived to appeal to "the masses" so to speak---he doesn't come off as "authentic"---which, personally, is the only criteria (well, not only, I like to enjoy the music) I base my music tastes on; seriously, I listen to EVERYTHING

ss, I'm glad that you like his stuff. But you do realize that youre going to have a hell of a time trying to defend his music.

To me it's just a bunch of contrived "oh look at me I'm so tough and cool" stereotypes told out in cliched rhymes over some basic genre music background.

Which can actually be quite enjoyable. I do have some Insane clown possey and Ying Yang twin songs. But I listen to those for the same reason I watch Ed wood films. They're just so hillariously awful that they become funny
