I think Ms should do it

but Wii? no I don't think so.....nintendo never upgrades home consoles in that way

PS3 sales are astonishing, but I think its mainly attributed to marketing & price

trust me if the phat PS3 was at $299 & marketed in this same way, sales would have still been the same this week

To new PS3 owners I agree, but people like me who already had a fat PS3 wouldn't have gotten a new PS3 just because its $299, I got the new PS3 because its $299 and slim.

Could just be me though.

Wii is too small to redesign.

you want it even smaller haha?

It would be better if they release limited edtions ones.

liek when nsmb wii come out there should of been a limited 1million bundle with a mario wii console.

when zelda comes out do the same.

when metro comes out do the same.

This is 3millionWii sales that will go quick. Especially to people who already own a wii haha.

Conner52 is right Wii doesn't need a Hardware update just a firmware update to add those features to it. What wii need is more colors. All I want is a red wii. I thought for sure Nintendo would release one with NSMBW but they didn't. Why Nintendo new colors would definitely motivate sales better than a redesign. Only thing they could possibly add is a bigger hard drive which isn't needed at all. A 2gb sd card has plenty of room.

360 could use a redesign though maybe one with a good fan installed.

Wii can play DVDs with homebrew but that's a feature most people wouldn't know about.

Nintendo could just have a software update. Also, the media features you listed could be released by a software update. From what I see, the only problems Wii has can be fixed with software updates.

They could, but if they leave that for a redesign it might fare better...

But what could they do with the system? It's pretty much as small as it can be. If you open one up the CD drive takes up the bulk of the system. It can't be like PS3 where it was a huge size/weight difference.

Well they did change the DSi from the DSL. Nintendo are creative, I think they could think of something :P

They took out the GBA slot, what can Nintendo do with the Wii? Take out the CD drive? That wouldn't be too smart. ;)

consoles are harder to remodel.

ps2 only had one and was enough, but sony it's a top industry engineering company they can do it faster even with more complex hardware, well they depend on doing it to reduce the price of the ps3.
for microsoft it's harder, because they contract others to do it, it took them a while to fix rrod (if they fixed it?).
and of course each remodel have it revisions to fix small problems.

Now that I think about it, I guess Nintendo could always make the Wii bigger, and add the slot for GBA games that were taken away from DSi.
