Because the PS2 was a great peice of hardware, and the original Xbox was prone to failure 50% of the time?

Sony and Microsoft have had their mishaps in that area, that doesn't mean Microsoft are bad at making hardware

Has the 360 been the most problematic hardware this gen? Yes.

Does the PS2 have anything to do with the thread? No.

Do i think MS want to have another $1Billion payout to fix a bunch more consoles? No.

Yes you're talking about Microsoft being bad at making hardware, when Sony fucked up as well last gen and Microsoft were pretty good on that front.

What's to say Microsoft will let that happen again .. you're acting as if every new xbox console is going to be plauged with problems

PS3 sales are astonishing, but I think its mainly attributed to marketing & price

trust me if the phat PS3 was at $299 & marketed in this same way, sales would have still been the same this week

Oh man, i can't disagree with you more. I just think that the PS3 was an ugly console, and now its damn sexy. Sry but the slim was a huuuge attribute to the PS3's recent success. I agree though, you cant really redesign the wii, i mean its already small and looks good. A black wii release though could spur the sales a bit like it did in UK

Wait so since PS consoles have a slim version MS won't do the same?? What type of logic is that? There is slimmer laptops, handhelds and every electronic system gradually get smaller. Plus with SONY copying MS a lot this gen(XBL, Keypad) I don't think MS cares.

MS hardware was the best with the Xbox. the 360 was rushed. Whats not to say they can't make a reliable slim version?

now a slim version has proved successful
360 should have a strict diet to lose weight or it will die because of obesity

Weirdly i agree with you :P Phat is more beautiful than slim. However from a commercial side if view, the slim is much more practical, and i think Slim+pricecut was a megaton move from Sony. But if the slim wasnt released i dont think sales would have been the same, close but not as huge(especially in japan)
