Reasonable said: I think PS3 is going to struggle to close gap in the US, but it's clearly going to finish well ahead of 360 in Others and Japan. By the end of January I guess it'll be all eyes on US to see if anything can change there.
Of course, MS ain't going to just take it lying down, so this is based on current trends. I await with interest both MS and Sony attempts to alter those trends. |
at the current levels that ps3 is outselling 360 in the u.s., were talking year(s)... the u.s. market is going to be an uphill battle. its really anyones guess what way its going to go as far as the HD consoles are concerned. while the ps3 will pass the 360 this gen in europe, the xbox platform has definity come a long way vs last gen and IMO has been pretty succsessfull (and will probably continue to be) in europe.
while ps3 is starting to catch up with the slim relaunch and lower price, overall... given the platforms history, im not THAT impressed. seeing as how dominate the brand became in the industry, to bunder it as much as sony did. its still debatdable how much, if at all, the ps3 will expand the playstation bussiness/brand before this generation of hardware ends.
its amazing to think if sony launched the ps3 with the same ideas they have now things could have been so different, they possibly could have squeezed microsoft out of the market this gen... instead of letting them gain a huge foothold in it.
