Take-Two Delays Unannounced AAA Title
Unknown game slipping to fiscal 2011. Time to speculate!
Take-Two CEO Ben Feder stated during a financial call this afternoon the company is delaying a major unannounced title,
moving it out of 2010 calendar release schedule.
"We decided to move one AAA title that was originally part of our 2010 projections out of the 2010 fiscal year."
Feder was asked during the Q&A session afterward to provide details, but he could only say that it'll be a profitable title.
"We have not previously announced the title," he said. "We do have this distinction, pretty much across the board, when we put out a AAA title
it's a profit contributor of meaningful proportion."
This mystery title was most likely a planned Q4 2010 release, but with news of Max Payne 3 being delayed, Take-Two probably believed it would
be best to have some separation between the two. Also, it's hard to imagine this title would be the next, full Grand Theft Auto release,
as Take-Two would never delay it out of the holiday season to prop up another game.
Since its unannounced, we can throw out likely suspects the Agent and L.A. Noire. I'll suggest it's 2K Boston's next unannounced project,
which we believe to be a Spec Ops reboot.
Any guesses?
