certainly it's not bad, but with a lot of genres lacking games I think it's OK to be disappointed with it.

You can't compare Star Fox or S&P to this game at all. One is a shooter which uses the pointer, this one doesn't. It is extremely disappointing since people were expecting a game world where the player could move freely and at the same time slash various enemies in different ways. Now, this game has the enemies come towards you and you just can move sideways and slash. That's perhaps the dumbest idea for a game in recent memory.
Also I hope this doesn't hint at Zelda Wii being on-rails cause that would be catastrophic. (Not Spirit Tracks-like on rails)
No one wanted the game to be like this, just like no one wanted DS:Extraction to became an on-rails shooter. History repeats itself.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Err.... this game has been known to be on rails since it first started development...
Anyone who was expecting someone different... wasn't paying attention.

Nope, it wasn't.

Yes... it was.
Why do you think so many people already knew it was on rails?
I mean... if you'd looked at any of the early screenshots it was obvious.

How is that going to work not on rails? I mean think.
People have been talking about it being on rails since 2008... so it's really just you.
It was made with the same intentions as the project HAMMER game.

That screen looks like EDF to me (hello radar). Where are people getting rails from exactly, was there a video? There's only sidestepping and no control of movement? How is it 4 player online then?
not to its very possible to have a online Rails game
@Kasz: LOL!!!!!!!!!!! How can you see it's on rails just by looking at that pic? No one ever imagined it was gonna be on rails, no one and I mean NO ONE. Give me some links.
I can assure you that once it was revived everyone was extremely happy because they thought it was an over the shoulder like adventure game. No one ever imagined it was gonna be on rails, that's why this is shocking. You didn't even I'd bet.
