Forums - Nintendo - The end of hope - Reginleiv is ON RAILS!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: This info came from a translation made by 1up. There´s no other source confirming it (or talking about this game anyway). Along the thread a lot of users gathered information that, at least, put some doubts on this whole "Its on rails!!!!" thing
- First, the game has a radar. Would a radar have any use in a on rails game?
- Secondly, the game has 4 people online co-op. Online co-op w/ FOUR people on rails? at least we know it cant be done on the same screen.
- Third, there´s confirmation on the trailer that you can strafe your character, at least on evasive manuvers
- Four, the trailer also shows that is possible to turn your character, so you can hit enemies behind you.
Who know? Maybe the game has some kind of on-rails thing, like you automatically walk to a certain place and once there you have more freedon to turn and strafe.
But for now, im taking this info with a grain of salt. Cant be sure about the rails thing.

A few more tidbits from the most recent issue of Famitsu. We are only reporting info on Zangeki no Reginleiv that we haven't already discussed on the site...

- likened to a 'rail sword-slashter' or rail shooter
- point the Wiimote and slash to attack
- more weapons: warhammers, javelins
- face a frost giant that towers 90 feet into the air

Ok, it COULD be a good game, even if on rails, because at least its not a gun-only affair, you´ll be slashing, and walking on rails, and...

Who am i kidding? ABANDON ALL HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!

... I thought this was already obvious. I've pretty much assumed it was on rails since day one. Was I the only one?

Yes, probably because you´re used to horrible games.

But the rest of us still had some hope.

You saw footage of the game and you got hyped. You read it's on-rails and suddenly it's a horrible game?

The chances of it being horrible climb up 85% with the On Rails news.

It looks like you can move your character like sin & punischment 2.

This could still be great. It depends on how they do it.

There´s more strange stuff on it.

The screens so far have a radar. Why do you need a radar if the games is on rails?

And the Co-op online? How would that work if the game is onrails?

Now, look at this info posted by 1up:

- The game's basically a rail shooter -- or rail sword-slasher, you could say. Point the Wiimote at the screen and slash (i.e. draw lines) to attack. The game's on the bloody side, and Freyr can hack arms and legs off enemies.

DRAW LINES? I dont like the sound of that. Maybe 1up have a bad translation, or saw a video and made this up. Because this IS NOT looking good

Not looking good AT ALL

it seemed to be by that video that was posted yesterday, but it looks like more akin to Killer 7 than a "traditional on rails" game

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

whats wrong with drawing lines exactly?
