well. i didnt know that. well i dont like that either. what i am trying to say is that i dont like when not just the people from USA but everyone says america. its USA and america is a continent.

North America is a continent.

South America is a continent.

Americas (or the Americas) is a collective term for both North and South America.

America is also a short term name for the United States of America, because it's a lot easier than saying "The United States."

Just live with it, it's hardly a big deal.
