When Taylor Swift can evolve and innovate like The Beatles and influence music forever...oh God, why do I even create these hypotheticals? They'll never happen. Hell, even Madonna was nowhere near The Beatles, and she was freakin' huge. Same with Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, or any other really famous female singer I could name. The Beatles could write legendary songs based off of various events in their lives; hell, most of their hit songs practically have their own little stories behind them. Even Ringo could write some really kickass songs when he felt like it.

All you need to do is listen to A Day In The Life to realize the Beatles' greatness... It actually started out as two songs. One by Lennon, the other by McCartney. It was two stories and both thought their song was incomplete so they combined them... and it became something different. Just beautiful.

And anyone who doesn't take the time to recognize the absolute mind-blowing brilliance of Strawberry Fields Forever needs to be sterilized. Without exception. Seriously, that's about the best way I've determined to figure out whether someone has a brain or not.

Strawberry Fields Forever is a good song, but sterilized, really?

Go look up Brian Carley. a million times greater musician than swift. Lyricist of the Gods. Songs mean much more than "You belong with Meeeeee"

Don't know him... Does he have any huge hits or awards to back him up? Has his albums ever hit #1?

Milli Vanilli had a hit.

...

Pardon me while I wash the ignorance off myself and go do something productive.

You need to listen to White Horse and feel the emotion of the lyrics. Also while you are at it listen to Change and Fearless and feel the intensity.

This thread is going off topic... It's about the Grammys and the quality of music and the Academy has its eyes on Taylor Swift for her recording REAL music.

Obviously an exaggeration but it's not a bad place to start.

I remember when I was 15... I listened to some bad music but Christ Almighty, I was also discovering the Beatles, the Stones, and a multitude of other bands that made music long before I was born. I wasn't "old", it wasn't anything, it was just great fucking music.

Some people are stupid. They have bad taste. I accept that. I merely ask that they be sterilized so the rest of us won't suffer from delusions of grandeur when the next "hot thing" pops on the pop culture radar.

Actually Strawberry Fields Forever is a good example of a great song compared to an average pop song. I haven't actually checked this, but I would imagine that there are as many tempo, tone and key changes in that ONE song than there are in an entire modern pop album.

What do you mean by exaggeration?
