Go look up Brian Carley. a million times greater musician than swift. Lyricist of the Gods. Songs mean much more than "You belong with Meeeeee"

Don't know him... Does he have any huge hits or awards to back him up? Has his albums ever hit #1?

Milli Vanilli had a hit.

...

Pardon me while I wash the ignorance off myself and go do something productive.

Yeah they had a hit... but they weren't Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, The Beatles, Beyonce or Elvis now were they? :P

I'm making my first ever prediction here on VGChartz and you can quote me:

More people will remember Milli Vanilli 5 years from now than Taylor Swift.
We'll all have to stick around to see how this turns out of course.

We will see about that. Someone who sells out the most legendary arena in the world in 1 minute will not be forgotten that easy! LOL

Remember the Cheetah Girls? Yeah, not too many do. Sure sold some tickets though.

When Taylor Swift can evolve and innovate like The Beatles and influence music forever...oh God, why do I even create these hypotheticals? They'll never happen. Hell, even Madonna was nowhere near The Beatles, and she was freakin' huge. Same with Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, or any other really famous female singer I could name. The Beatles could write legendary songs based off of various events in their lives; hell, most of their hit songs practically have their own little stories behind them. Even Ringo could write some really kickass songs when he felt like it.

All you need to do is listen to A Day In The Life to realize the Beatles' greatness... It actually started out as two songs. One by Lennon, the other by McCartney. It was two stories and both thought their song was incomplete so they combined them... and it became something different. Just beautiful.

And anyone who doesn't take the time to recognize the absolute mind-blowing brilliance of Strawberry Fields Forever needs to be sterilized. Without exception. Seriously, that's about the best way I've determined to figure out whether someone has a brain or not.

You need to listen to White Horse and feel the emotion of the lyrics. Also while you are at it listen to Change and Fearless and feel the intensity.

This thread is going off topic... It's about the Grammys and the quality of music and the Academy has its eyes on Taylor Swift for her recording REAL music.

Believe it or not but I've listened to the album.

You know what I think? Amy Winehouse has more talent pouring out of one heroin-addled pore than Taylor Swift will ever have in her liftetime.

Was that modern enough for you?

OMG AMY WINEHOUSE!!! She is so talented. Probably the most talent britian has ever produced. She is a true artist too.

Why because she is talented and can sing?

Actually Strawberry Fields Forever is a good example of a great song compared to an average pop song. I haven't actually checked this, but I would imagine that there are as many tempo, tone and key changes in that ONE song than there are in an entire modern pop album.

Yep. I was 15 when I first heard Strawberry Fields Forever and I spent two weeks shifting the balance on my car speakers left and right to figure out how they did that song. It absolutely blew my mind. I hadn't heard anything like that in my life and it absolutely fascinated me.

Still, to this day, I've never heard a song that wove itself so perfectly, yet so incongruently, into a song. Then you add in the lyrics...

LOL! Good come back.

I'm sorry that a small time young boy from New Jersey didn't get the same backing of a mega hit record label and give him a co-writer and forced his  songs to be played on the radio to make the song a number one as an attractive easily marketed teenage girl.....

Taylor is more than a pretty girl. She is a musical genius and a musical prodigie. Just because shes a woman doesn't mean she can't be better than the Beatles.

A musical genius? Prodigie? mhm

Nah, Amy Winehouse is one screwed up bitch. She's also got a knack for writing songs and emulating a 50s black American singer.

I have to admit I'm a fan. She's a fascinating character and it's hard to deny she's got some talent.
