I think Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was the first PC and Console to use that type of naming convention. PC version released in 2005 and Console version (which was WAAAAAAYYYY different) came out a year or so later.

As I've said before, there doesn't exist a feature on CoD or MoH that Battlefield has done and done better. Except removal of features, CoD is reigning king of that.

However, before BF2 I'm sure there were other FPS games centered on a more modern combat system, I didn't play them as I'm sure they weren't as good as BF1942 that I played before BF2.

Wow people complained about there is too many ww2 games and not enough modern. Now they complain there are too many modern games... Wow in less than a year things change lol. Well then i hope this is a great game.
Medal of Honor needs a refresh and def deserves it.

It will be interesting to see what the MOH series can add to the Modern Combat FPS. I hope this game is done well and I will at least rent it to try it out, when it's released of course.
